Approaching the Shingo La

Looking into the next valley, at the end of which is
Shingo La.

Camping at high altitude.
You see my porter is totally white in his face due to a
particularly salty sweat mixed with an out-of-date sunlotion. Why didn't this kuli wash his face, well he was afraid of the cold
water, and also he lacked a mirror. Furthermore the other campers had grown used to seeing him look more
dead than alive, so they stopped telling him that he was a paleface!

When you're as exhausted as this horseman, is there
anything better than to use some stones for a bed?

The Shingo La is right above the ridge in the middle.
Well it's still a few hours going strong!

Finally at the Shingo La, surrounded by prayer flags
sending blessings out in all directions.
Go to the top, go to previous page or continue trekking.
